Becca Webster ~ SHELTER - Card #1

You have been in the shelter for a couple of days now. It is a little weird staying in a house with other people, but you feel safe. You have been attending support groups for survivors of sexual assault in the shelter. It isn’t easy to share, but you find that hearing other experiences has been helpful.

Before all this happened, you were looking forward to finding a place of your own. Now you are not sure if you want to live alone. Whether you stay at your mom’s or get a place of your own, you are afraid Chad will try to contact you.

As you talk with the shelter advocate about your concerns with Chad contacting you, you decide you want to try to get a protective order. The advocate helps you fill it out and you have court the next morning. Jennifer is going with you, so at least you won’t have to go alone.
