Elena ~ Family - Card #3

You tell your mother she’s right—it’s more important to be with family than to be at work.

You bring out arequipe for dessert, your father’s favorite. Your mother tears up. “Your father would have been so proud of you,” she says. “Elena, I thank God every day that you’re hardworking like your father and that you have the good sense to stay away from boys. You know that messing with boys can ruin your whole life, yes?”

“Si, Mama.” You sigh and wish there were some way you could tell her about Ian. So she’d know he was different.
