Cara ~ Friends - Card #5

Whitney goes first. Then it’s your turn and you lean back in the chair for your facial.

When you’re done, you can’t find Whitney.  You look in the parking lot and see Whitney talking to Brian.  They’re both crying.

“I just wanted to say goodbye,” Brian says to you. “I can’t take it anymore and I just wanted you to hear it from me.”

Whitney says in a fake calm voice, “Brian’s just having a rough day today.  He brought his dad’s gun with him.”

“Promise me you won’t do anything,” you say to Brian.  You look frantically for help and wonder if you should call the police.

“You don’t know what it’s like,” he says.

Whitney walks toward Brian’s car where the gun is hanging out of the glove compartment. “I’m just going to hold this for you, Brian, OK?”

“No… I don’t know.  I don’t think that’s a good idea.”  He climbs into the driver’s seat. “I just wanted to say goodbye,” he repeats and drives away.

You’re shaking.

Whitney drives you home and you take a long nap before you head to work.  You just want to forget about everything for a little while.

Brian’s Thoughts
Man, you sure get attention carrying a gun. Even just driving around with it, if feels like I’ve got some power back. Seeing her at the beauty school… I kind of lost it. Is she getting ready to go out with another guy? Is that what this is about? Better not be.
